Anyone else notice this obvious ( To me anyway ) homage by Alan Davis to the fantastic first team up of the two Masthead franchise characters by the big two?  The big two by the big two...  Even if it is not specifically designed to be an homage I could not help but immediately picture this back to back smile for the camera pose.   A lot of effort and energy went into that team up back in 19 and 76...according to wiki =
Penciller(s)Ross Andru
Neal Adams (major Superman figure re-draws [1])
John Romita, Sr. (Marvel character head touch-ups)
Inker(s)Dick Giordano
Terry Austin (uncredited, backgrounds)
Joe Rubinstein (assist)
Bob Wiacek (assist)
and then we have Alan Davis' rendition... Great job always of course.

My favorite HULK covers part 1

Probably the greatest era of the HULK for me was his issues through 196 to 255 ...always a big Hulk fan it really did not matter to me as long as the comic kept coming out I was reading it. But I did have a favorite run...but I collected right on through the 80's and 90's well into the 21st century. I have since stopped collecting but...I see the awesome work one of my favorite artists Walter Simonson has been doing...All I can say is I am glad the HULK is given the star quality he deserves.
( These covers are out of order I know )I tried to keep them in order but when I posted them...they showed up like so...I don't mind...enjoy
