in the HOSPITAL

Once again...almost near death because of my failing kidneys...I was in the Hospital and My Mom and Dad brought me some comics to cheer me up fresh off the rack...this one I stared at for hours...seeing the humor in the drawing and thus being cheered up on a level they knew nothing about...Thanks Mom and Dad.  Art by Marie Severin

Somebody get me a DOCTOR!!!!

When I was a kid...this issue was in the Dr's office...My Mom brought me in for kidney troubles.  I had Nefrosis a rare kidney disorder that almost killed me.  But with some steroids and medicine I got better.  The nice DOC let me keep the comic book.  I'm thinking this is a Curt Swan and Murphy Anderson cover.

JUNGLE ACTION # 1 volume 2 ..When Marvel was still Atlas in the 50's

John Buscema is one of the greatest comic book artists of all time...it is he I try to emulate and it is he that I aspired to be like when I wanted to get into comics.  A LOOOONG time ago.

A new blog...Disclaimer.

I'm starting a new blog..MYSPACE has gotten lame.  Here on this blog I can stratch my legs a bit more and expound a little about each cover and the impact it made on my life at the time.  It's going to be fun because thwere are so freaking many goddamned favorite covers of mine that they all get a showcase.  Of course I do not have permission to publish or reproduce these pieces of art and they are all copywritten to particular business establishments but my blog is for review purposes only...I talk about how I like the art or I talk about the artist or whatever..It's for review purposes  only.  It will take some time and I only started with a few to get the ball rolling but I have a MYSPACE profile that is public and I will be transferring the entire cover gallery to this blog...gotta work on the resolution a bit but...you get the picture eh?
